Quakers believe that of God is accessible and integral to every person and that each moment of our lives can be lived from the Truth of the Divine. This is as true for children and youth as it is for adults.

The work of Children’s Religious Education is about Making Space for children to experience and live from the center of God.

These are some of the things our community requires so that we can make this space:

Quality First Day Schools with dedicated, supported teachers, curricula that challenge us to go deep and structures that are sustainable and nurturing.

Meetings that include children and families in their worship, service, fun, learning and every other aspect of Meeting-life.

A Yearly Meeting Community that folds children into its care while opening its heart to their leading at the same time.

Families who are active in their Meeting and supported in living their faith out loud all week.

An understanding that children’s experience of the Divine may be different from that of adults but not less important, pervasive or intense.

Adults whose lives are spiritually-nurtured.

Children’s Religious Education of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting supports the community in making space for children’s spiritual life and religious education.
