The Prep School Negro at MHS Feb 25th
The documentary film The Prep School Negro by Andre Robert Lee tells of the plight of students of color who attend independent schools, including Quaker schools, both within the school community and within their own families and neighborhoods. Lee himself was granted a full scholarship to Germantown Friends School when he was 14. His experiences then were not so different than those of current students, as the struggles continue and racial intolerance and ignorance mount. He will present the documentary, which is currently being pursued by HBO and other major networks, and facilitate a question and answer period following the film. Hosted by Haddonfield Friends School and Moorestown Friends School, the viewing followed by a discussion and reception is being held at MFS, Thursday, February 25, 7:00 p. m. All are welcome.
