Committee on Peace and Concerns
The
Standing Committee on Peace and Concerns is charged with helping
Friends to follow leadings toward peace and social order as well as for
assuring good order in the approval and management of projects under
the care of Yearly Meeting. Friends, groups of Friends or Meetings
under a concern for which Yearly Meeting oversight and support may be
sought are urged to contact this committee early in the planning
process.

From UPI: "Quakers hail Iraqi withdrawal timeline"

Two Quaker organizations praised the signing of a measure requiring the U.S. Defense Department to update lawmakers on the progress of the withdrawal from Iraq.
U.S. President Barack Obama signed a measure that requires the Pentagon to provide lawmakers with quarterly reports on the progress toward a Dec. 31, 2011, withdrawal date from Iraq as outlined in a bilateral status of forces agreement.

PYM NEWS: Members of the Ministry for Racial Justice and Equality in the Religious Society of Friends sent letters to Meetings last fall, offering a visit from the group to share about the ministry. We have now scheduled visits to Woodstown Meeting (NJ), Third Haven Meeting (MD) and Fallsington Meeting (PA).
