Young Friends of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) is a youth group for high-school aged members and attenders of Monthly Meetings, and their friends, located in eastern and central Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, Delaware, and the Eastern Shore of Maryland, in the United States. We welcome all interested people who are in grades 9 through 12 or have reached the age of 14 by September 1. Do I have to be a Quaker to participate? No. We are delighted to have you participate! We are not evangelical. We will not presure you to be a Quaker. If you live in one of the areas we cover and would like to be added to our mailing list, or would like more information, please send an e-mail to Cookie Caldwell, cookiec@pym.org, or call 215-241-7222. You'll need to tell us your name, age, and address.
If you are over the age of 21 and associated with a Friends (Quaker) Meeting , Friends School or Philadelphia Young Adult Friends, and would like information about being a Friendly Adult Presence ("chaperone" just doesn't capture how special FAP's are to Young Friends), check out our page on Adult Volunteers then contact Cookie Caldwell, cookiec@pym.org, or call 215-241-7222. It's a great opportunity for mentoring young people and learning from them.
